Photographer Spotlight: Mike Edmondson

This week, we’re taking a look at Mike Edmondson, photographer and backcountry guide in our unique Australian Alps. Mike has accumulated an amazing selection of photographs, postcards, gift cards and photographic books of the Australian Alps over the last 30 years. His work is exhibited in the Mountain Adventure Centre’s gallery, Jindabyne Newsagency and online.

Mike Edmondson – Alpine photographer and guide

Mike is an experience backcountry skier and walker who camps in snow caves and mountain tops for sunset and sunrise photos, sharing these experiences with clients on tours to experience the snow covered mountains in winter and wildflowers in summer. For fit and adventurous clients Mike guides them to climb Australia’s ten highest peaks in these spectacular mountains.

Mike’s photos illustrate his passion for the mountains, which offer amazing seasonal diversity from fields of fragile, brightly coloured wildflowers emerging in spring and summer to ancient snow-covered peaks, granite boulders & icy twisted snow gums in winter.

Keep an eye on our Facebook page for a chance to purchase one of his prints on glass later in the week.
